I am sure not many people watched the latest Democratic debate.  It doesn't make much difference anyway.  Clinton will be the nominee barring a big scandal.  Sanders is more of a sparring partner than an opponent in the ring.  So Clinton appears to be taking more shots at Trump than his "opponents".  I agree that Trump will serve as a recruiting tool for ISIS.  But I think Clinton went too far to say that there are ISIS videos featuring Trump right now.  There is no proof of that so far that I can see.  There is no point to exaggerate things.

But I don't understand the bromance happening between Trump and Putin.  Putin says Trump is bright and talented and Trump says there is no proof that Putin has killed any journalists.  Trump also says it is a great honor to be praised by Putin.  Since I don't think Putin has our country's interest at heart, I think he must want to deal with Trump than somebody else after next year.  So I can see why he praise Trump.  But is Trump really that stupid to defend a dictator?  It would be like FDR accepting the praise of Hitler and say that there is no proof that Hitler killed anyone.  But then I guess Trump's supporters don't care what Trump says.

I caught the end of the debate the other night. It's weird how the tone is so much more different in the Democratic debates than it is on the Republican ones. Maybe the GOP ones are just different this time around because of Trump. Plus the amount of debaters makes them different.

I still think that Trump is secretly a Democrat and is trying to ruin the GOP nomination. It seems to me that his remarks are becoming more outlandish these days. You might be right about the ISIS videos, but Clinton's remarks are there to set up things later on.

I personally think that ISIS could be using the clips of Trump as added fuel to the fire. But as far as actual tapes being distributed, I highly doubt it.

After watching the debate, I still like O'Malley the most of all the candidates. I have no illusions that he will win. He will come in a far distant 3rd, but he's been so different from the other two candidates (maybe just unpolished?) that it's been refreshing. He has detailed plans out there on various issues, whereas the other two are talking in generalities.

Maybe he's trying position himself for a cabinet job, because I can't imagine him being there after Clinton is done. Yes, I'm calling it now. Unless something drastic happens, it looks like Trump will be running either as the GOP candidate or he'll be an Independent.

This will give Clinton the presidency (barring anything drastic happens here). I don't even think it'll be close. The first person she should call to thank is Trump!

  2. I have not watched any of the Democratic debates so I don't know anything about O'Malley. In fact if you like O'Malley's positions on issues, you may be the foremost expert on O'Malley in this country!

Trump has pledged recently that he would not run as a third party candidate although I am sure he can change his mind. But given that he is the only viable white male candidate in the GOP right now, he may very well win the nomination! I don't see the GOP giving the nomination to Carson, Cruz or Rubio. They are all minorities and the only ones within striking distance of Trump right now. I personally like Kasich but he is like the O'Malley of the GOP.

If the GOP is smart, they would nominate Rubio. Assuming Trump does not go the third party route, I think Rubio can very well win. He will win Florida, the biggest toss up states of them all. He is young and energetic. I don't think being Hispanic is going to help him much since the Cuban American experience is quite different than those from Mexico and Central America. So I don't see him winning places like California. But who knows? A few extra thousand votes in Nevada and Colorado may be the difference.

Speaking of GOP nominees, I didn't even realize Lindsay Graham was still in the race up until yesterday. I seriously don't understand why candidates hang in there so long and waste money. Now that he's officially out, at least there's one less candidate out there.

I'm surprised that Fiorina isn't getting a bigger look. I think the GOP has a fascination with women candidates and I can see them throwing her out there to battle Clinton and set up a run next time. Though she's really polling low (about 3%), I guess she's a candidate for VP nominee.

My GOP guy, Chris Christie is getting a little bit of a bump, so maybe he can be Captain Comeback. I have a feeling he'll screw up at some point though.
