The end of this week marks one hundred days in office for Trump. After promising all sorts of things will be accomplished in the first 100 days, now Trump is saying this is an artificial day of no significance. Whatever! I will wait till end of this week to make more comments. So today I just want to mention that Vivek Murthy was fired as Surgeon general by Trump. He was appointed by Obama and was a supporter of Obama. Also he said proliferation of guns in the country is a detriment to health. So not too surprised that Trump fired him. What? Healthcare is political? Shocking! Interestingly, his replacement is a nurse. Maybe I am biased but doesn't SURGEON general imply only a licensed physician can hold this job?

While I tend to think that the 100 Days thing is stupid, I have no sympathy for the president, since he talked a big game of getting all these things accomplished in his first 100 days. Had he not boasted so much on the campaign trail, it wouldn't be a big deal.
ReplyDeleteLet's not kid ourselves. He's done quite a lot during his first 100 days. It might take time to see the "damage" though. I think it's quite apparent that his appointees are going to dismantle a lot of the things Obama and previous presidents built.
We're already seeing environmental regulations start to be dismantled. As is funding for the arts and education.
I'm interested to see what this tax cut will look like. I heard that even if he proposes this, that congress may not pass it still.
Now, onto more important stuff. I heard that a front runner on DWTS, your favorite show, was voted off. Or is it not-voted to be kept? That's really too bad, but what do you expect? It's a popularity contest. There were probably 2 other couples that should have gone before her. This seems to happen every season, but not with someone as talented this early.

I am sure Trump's tax plan he is unveiling will not be detailed oriented. As they say, the devil is in the detail. As usual he will boast what great plan he has but it will not work in real life. Just because I say I can jump like Michael Jordan, it doesn't mean I really can.
ReplyDeleteI agree that Heather Morris should not have been eliminated before at least two or three of the men. But my daughter told me that Morris was in another dance contest with two of the current pros in DWTS. None of the three won so that tells me that contest was at a way higher level than DWTS. Perhaps people think that she has almost as much experience as some of the pros so should not win. And it seems every season there is a shocking elimination and this is the one for this season. I think the two bottom men will go the next two weeks. Then it is Ross against Kerrigan in the old people elimination to see who makes the final four.
