People may be making fun of Dennis Rodman's travel to North Korea.  But Kim Jung Un is supposedly a big basketball fan and he just maybe trying to open his country via basketball diplomacy.  Since ping pong diplomacy worked so well 40 year or so ago, who knows if this will be a break through?  At the very least Kim figures he would look respectable to the world next to Rodman!  If this works, I think we should send Hulk Hogan or Jesse Ventura to Iran since wrestling is very big in that country.

Who wrote comment #6 on my previous blog?  I can't make out what it is saying except something about expensive hand bags.  No thanks to that, I don't need purses nor can I afford them.

You can't send Hulk Hogan to Iran, since he beat their favorite son, The Iron Shiek at Wrestlemania and continue to be enemies!

It will be interesting to see what this trip does for diplomacy between the two countries. I was pleasantly surprised there weren't any incidents with Rodman.

I read an article last week on a trip that someone took to N. Korea. It was very interesting and if you want, I can send you the link.

Did you catch the 60 Minutes piece on China? It was quite interesting, though I remember reading about the "Ghost Cities" a few years ago. Seems like there are more of these.

I did not write #6 on the previous blog, so it looks like your blog got hit with SPAM!

  2. I did not know there is an Iron Sheik. The only Sheik in wrestling I know is from the 1970s. He fought Bobo Brazil and Igor. Can't remember where he was from though. So it will be up to Jesse Ventura who is smarter than Hogan anyway.

Rodman said that Kim wants Obama to call him. Why don't they just play one on one. If Kim wins, Obama gives him 1o million, if Obama wins, Kim stop the nuclear program. I would bet on Obama even though Kim is a lot younger. Kim looks to be way out shape.

I did see 60 Minutes. It will be a big problem for the Chinese government when the housing bubble collapses. They are pumping billions into construction to keep the economy going. If the middle class start to lose their life savings, there will be unrest in the streets. This maybe their Arab spring. Of course the downside is that with China being so important in the global economy, it would bring a recession throughout the world if this happens.

Saw couple of articles about Michigan governor going to take over Detroit. There is a big article in LA Times op-ed section today. It is written by a guy from Irvine who wrote "Biography of Detroit". He argues against the take over. I don't know enough of the situation to have an opinion but I am not sure there is any reasonable solution. What are the feelings in Michigan?

What does SPAM mean to this blog? Do I have to move to Hawaii where spam is a delicacy?

Ironically, the original Sheik is from the Lansing area. His son is a wrestler as well.

So are you leaning on stereotypes that Obama will win because he is black? I am joking of course, though if you were North Korean, you would have to believe that Kim Jon Il, would have beaten the 2012 Miami Heat 1 on 5!

The state is split in half regarding the Emergency Financial Manager. Though most Detroit residents are against it. There is a perception that the white man is taking power away from the black man.

The city is in great debt and Bing and the city council has not been able to do anything about it, so the governor is taking action. Keep in mind that the governor has been threatening to do it since he came into office, so the city has had about 2 years to make changes.

It'll be interesting to see what happens since no one has been hired to do the job. I've heard rumors that Mitt Romney was contacted, but I highly doubt he'll leave LaJolla to come to Detroit.

Did you say SPAM? Now I am hungry!
