It does not appear that Trump will punish Saudi crown prince over the killing of journalist Khashoggi. This despite the CIA has said that the crown prince ordered the killing himself. But it is not surprising that Trump goes against his own intelligence agency. He did the same with Putin in Helsinki where he famously said that Putin had denied allegations of meddling in U.S. elections "strongly and powerfully". Recently he also expressed disbelief about North Korea increasing its military program despite the intelligence reports.
I ask this: what would republicans say if Obama had express belief in Putin, Kim and the Saudi prince over our intelligence agencies? I am sure they would have claimed that Obama is treasonous in his actions. They will say that he is a socialist at least, if not communist. They will say that kissing up to the Saudis proved that he is a Muslim. They would say that Obama is against American democracy and values. What are they saying about Trump today?

I thought it was interesting to see that POTUS decided to not sanction the Saudis. It's all about money and he even admitted to it. Funny thing is that he claimed he didn't want to hurt the world economy by doing so, but with his tariffs on Chinese goods, isn't that what he is doing?
ReplyDeleteI thought for sure that you would be angry about this week's surprise win in DWTS, your favorite show. These types of results seem to have happened more these last couple of years, and even though the fans who call in are to blame, I also blame the judges who are able to score lower. The champion had a perfect score for his freestyle, which to me, did not warrant one. So who knows if 9's would have been the difference. We may never know.

It is nonsense about Saudi Arabia effect on the economy. They can shut the oil production down but unlike the 70s, the world won't fall apart before the Saudis will this time. We shouldn't even be selling arms to them in the first place. But Trump is afraid that they will buy elsewhere. If they do, their military will be much weaker so I don't worry about that. Just like with Russia, Trump must have some shady business dealings with the Saudis. There are no logical explanation for his actions.
ReplyDeleteThis is the worst champion and maybe the worst finalist in the history of DWTS. The Argentine guy was the best and he didn't even make the final. I think Len said that he thought America is for justice but there was no justice here. I am not sure justice prevails in the Trump era anymore!
The fire situation is stable now but Trump is blaming forest management for the fire here. He said Finland avoids fire by raking the forests? Finland denies this. Maybe he will advice Florida to put up a wall so that hurricanes cannot land there. I guess he will say anything to please those people who denies climate change.
