I am writing this blog on my new ipad, given to me by my kids for Chrismas. I am now almost up to date with the technological world!  I predict that they will avoid the fiscal cliff by kicking the can down the road further.

My predictions for the Big Ten stay intact with MSU's come back victory.  A good win for them after all those close losses this year.

Happy new year!

Happy New Year, Angry Yellow Man!

Typical Washington, as they wait until the last minute to come up with a resolution. Too bad it had to come to that, but at least they came up with something.

Really thought Wisconsin would pull it out in the Rose Bowl. I really like Stanford's team. They look like a Big Ten team and their coach seems very down to earth and humble.

How do you like the iPad so far?

  2. I didn't like the so-called resolution. In less than 2 months we will be back with the same situation again. I like compromises but keep kicking the can down the road is not going to be healthy. I still think that going over the cliff will give us a reality check and figure out what we really should be doing.

I would say that Biden improved his chances for 2016 with his negotiating skill. I had wanted Biden in 2008 because his knowledge of Congress and foreign affairs. He is goofy and mistake prone but I always thought he would be a decent president. With Hilary's health issue this makes Biden perhaps the front runner even though I am not impressed with this negotiated bill itself.

Eleven seconds was all that separated me from another correct prediction of Big Ten bowl season. Minnesota, Wisconsin and Nebraska teased us for awhile but I guess the Big Ten is ultimately a weak conference this year. See Purdue! Yuk!

I like the i-pad but I probably have to pay for cellular service on it as the internet connection at home and in the office is so bad that the i-pad can't use their signals. When I am at some place with good connections the i-pad works fine.

Super Bowl prediction: New England vs Green Bay.

I don't know if Biden is electable at this point. I guess the next 4 years will be important for him. I didn't think he would even entertain a bid for the White House. He doesn't seem to have those aspirations.

I think college football has parity now. See last night's Louisville win over Florida. I gave Louisville no chance of winning, especially with the caliber of player Florida gets.

The Pac 12 and Big Ten didn't look strong all year, but really only the SEC did.

Maybe you should improve your connections at home and the office instead of spending extra money for the cell service? Unless you plan on using the iPad at locations where there isn't wi-fi, it seems like a waste of money.

Haven't thought about the Super Bowl yet. I will write in at some other point.

I wanted to add that the SEC also underperformed, but its top teams are still among the best in college football.

I really believe we are in the era of parity in college sports. There doesn't seem to be anymore dominant teams and conferences.

As far as the Super Bowl goes, I got to finally take a look at the playoff picture. You might remember that I said last year that the team with a good defense and balance on offense would win. This year is no different.

I am predicting a Denver vs. San Francisco Super Bowl with the Broncos winning.

Denver has the best home field advantage in the NFL and they will ride that advantage as the number 1 seed. Along with a pretty good defense and a ball control offense, they will be very tough to beat.

San Francisco won't have to go to Green Bay, but even if they did, the 49ers are not your typical West Coast team. They have possibly the best defense in the NFL, and a balance offense.

  5. Biden did hint that he would run in 2016. He will be the oldest candidate and it is hard to know if he would still have a chance at that time. But if both he and Hilary run it would be interesting whom Obama endorses.

I thought that if anyone outside of the SEC was to win the national championship this year it would be Oregon. Their speed is amazing. Stanford did shut them down but it was just an off day for Oregon. Alabama is obviously bigger and has a much better defense. But if any type of team that can beat them,it would be a fast, wide open offense. Witness Texas A@M. I think Oregon is better. I would be shock if Notre Dame beats Alabama. They are similar teams that rely on strength but Alabama has better athletes so I think Oregon would have a much better chance than Notre Dame.

I agree with your assessment of the super bowl. But recent history indicates that top seeded teams usually don't win so I cross out Denver and Atlanta. SF certainly can beat GB but I think in a close game Rodgers is way more experienced than Kapernick or however you spell his name.
