Trump's Tulsa rally is now over. It did not bring in 60,000 to 100,000 people to the city as his people predicted. The area was not full to its capacity of 20,000. There was no over flow crowd as even the arena itself wasn't filled. Trump then falsely accused protesters of blocking people from entering. If that was the case, there would be a lot of people outside which Trump was scheduled to address. But that address was not necessary as there was hardly anyone outside.
The people behind Trump when he spoke were not wearing mask even though they are elbow to elbow. Trump then said that testing was a bad idea since the more you test, the more infection you find. The WH claimed later that it was a joke. But his audience didn't laugh, they just applauded as if they agree. That is not surprising since it was not a joke and these people that showed up obviously have the same beliefs about the pandemic as Trump. Now I know why Trump claim that this rally won't increase the Covid-19 cases. His supporters are not going to get tested!
He also called this the Kung Fu virus, continuing the deflection of blame by using a racist term. Again his supporters cheered. There is nothing else to say about this president. He is a dangerous, incompetent racist. I know there are still Asians who support him. I want to see how they defend the things he said tonight.
More of the same rhetoric we've seen when he is trying to fire up his followers. I don't know why there were less than one million people. I have a hard time thinking it was because protesters were obstructing them from getting into the arena. You would think that these tough Americans would not let these protesters from stopping them but maybe they aren't so tough without their guns.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great test to see if what percentage of these participants will get the virus. I'm curious if anyone who gets the virus from going to the rally will still vote for Trump. I saw some people who still thought this was a hoax. Who will they blame when they get the virus?

There were people who claimed to use Tik Tok to get people to sign up for the Trump rally and then don't go. These requests for tickets made the Trump campaign to believe that hundreds of thousands of people were going. So they bragged about it and prepared for Trump to be on a stage outside for the overflow before the rally. They were fooled, although they claim now that they knew all along that those requests were fake. If that is the case, why did they say hundreds of thousands will show?
ReplyDeleteI agree that it would be great to see what percentage of people get the virus. But the true number of cases may not be known since those who are asymptomatic or even mildly sick won't go get tested. If they were all from Tulsa or OK, then you can see spike in cases since those asymptomatic people can still spread the virus. But since many people are from out of state and contact tracing in the country is poor, it would be hard to know if these people at the rally brought back the virus from Tulsa and increase their local cases.
After watching parts of Trump's speech at his rally in Tulsa, I realized that he is stronger than his supporters thought. They cheered wildly when he drank water out of a glass with only one hand. He was able to convince them that he is capable of walking down a ramp in leather shoes. It did take several minutes to convince them though.
ReplyDeleteIt seems that Trump is scared by some minorities. He spoke of tough hombres showing up in your house when your wife is alone. Hey, where is Melania? He is scared of Kung fu. He got beat up by K-Pop, at least their fans. Will see who he is scared of in Phoenix.
